Are you looking for a gift for that notoriously hard to buy for friend or family member who seems to have everything already? Or maybe you need to buy a gift for someone you don’t know well, and you are drawing a complete blank for ideas. That is where gift credit cards come into the picture. With a gift credit card, you are still showing the person you care and that you haven’t forgotten them, but you are putting them back in the driver’s seat when it comes to selecting something for them. Prepaid gift credit cards have become hugely popular, and more and more people are relying upon them as the go to gift of choice. And everyone certainly loves receiving them! For kids, they have the fun of having their very own “credit card” to shop with, and adults love having a little extra money in their pockets to buy something they might not otherwise have the chance to get.
About Gift Credit Cards Gift credit cards come in two formats. First, there are the store based gift credit cards. These prepaid gift cards work in much the same way that the old paper based gift certificates used to work; they just make the system more streamlined and give people something that is easier to carry around with them than the paper gift certificates. Other prepaid gift cards are actually prepaid credit cards from major credit card providers; i.e. American Express gift cards, that can be used anywhere that credit card brand is accepted. That means you don’t have to limit people to a store any more when you are getting them a gift certificate; a prepaid gift card lets them really spend the money as they see fit. Gift cards have other benefits outside of giving the gift recipient a lot of choice. First of all, most gift cards are free gift cards, which means that there are no additional fees for activating the card. Second, you can send prepaid credit cards as a gift much more easily than paper certificates. If the gift card is stolen or if the person loses the gift card, it can be cancelled and replaced because there is a record of the purchase. With paper gift certificates, if the certificate is lost, you are out of luck. You can also get custom gift credit cards to help you put your own personal stamp on the gift. |
